Specialist Appt Today...

Quick appt update.  Jett looks awesome! YAY!  He's looking so much bigger on the u/s screen. :-) He now weighs 2 lbs 11 oz!!  Gett'n big, my lil man.  Unfortunately, my fave lady tech was out today, so the Dr. came in and did a really quick scan just to check certain things. So, although I did get to see him a little, I didn't get to see his little face and get pics printed out and all that. Frown  Oh, well....*sigh*...she better there next time!  Baby is still head down, guess he's going to stay like that.
I did call and speak with my nurse today and I passed the Glucose test, BUT she said I'm showing to be a tab bit anemic.  Once the dr looks my file over she'll call me if she wants me to do anything about it, but she said it wasn't that much, so she may not want to do anything.  I usually am anemic with my pregnancies, so no surprise there.
But, good check up!

27 weeks TODAY!

One more week of the 2nd Trimester to go....

I can't believe my long awaited for pregnancy is nearing the end... I'm going to miss being pregnant, there's nothing like it!  But, I'm so looking to having my little man in my arms.  I have a feeling life is about to get a little more uncomfortable for me and him as the growth continues, but we'll handle it together just fine. :-)
Met with his Pediatricians today!  It is a Group of three women dr's, they have an office in Metairie (where I will be delivering) & in LaPlace where I live (which will be convenient later on).  I was able to meet and greet with two of them, so far Dr. Dupre is my fave, she's young (younger than me I do believe), but very sweet and easygoing.  I will be praying she is the one I see in the hospital.  Dr. Michel was okay, nice, but kinda had an attitude about me being Non-Vax...but, oh well, she'll have to get over it.  Dr. Lawrence was not in the office, so I was unable to meet her, but I've heard from friends who've met with her she's super nice, so that makes me feel comfortable with her already.  I'm relieved I have another thing check marked off my list of Things To Do now.  Everything is eventually coming together like I knew it would.  Up next, my SHOWER!  Only about a month away and still lots to do, but I know it too will come together in the end...so no worries. The fam and I will be going Sunday to finish up my Registry at Babies R Us.
Monday we get to see Jett again.. YAY!  Then, we're going to purchase our new Lazy Boy Rocker/Recliner...ahhh..that will be so nice, to cuddle with Jett in!  Baby boy has been moving all around.  So thankful, we're both doing so well!

Here's what's going on with Jett this week:

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

OB Checkup 26w4d

My checkup went well today.  I had to drink the Glucola and give 3 vials of blood. Ew.

HB sounded great at 153bpm, fundal height measured on target, and I've gained around 16lbs so far (not bad).  I spoke with her about the Cyst and she said she is unsure whether she will be able to do anything about it during the surgery.  She said it depends on how everything goes and how everything looks when she's in there.  She said it's tricky when doing something like removing a cyst during surgery when she has to contend with lots of extra blood and blood vessels that could potentially be in the way.  She wouldn't want to cause me unnecessary bleeding or, at the worst, end up having to remove the whole ovary (I surely don't want that either!)  So we'll have to see.  But, she did say, if anything, she could take a fluid sample to have tested so we can know what's going on with it.  She even said sometimes they tend to go back down once the pregnancy is over.  I'll just be praying that whenever and however, it goes away and all my baby making parts stay intact.  About a Pediatrician, she was unable to find one who would be willing to do the circ later (no surprise there), so she will be doing it before I leave.  She did recommend me a Pediatric group that she thinks will be a good fit for me and my birth plan and gave me the contact info.  And I got my Prenatal Massage permission slip :-)...yippie.
ALSO, today starts my every 2 weeks visits!....You know what that means!!!....We're getting cloooossser.
And my D-day has been confirmed with the hospital for Friday, June 8th @ 12pm!

Good visit.  Can't wait to get another sneak peek of Jett in 5 days.

26 weeks down.... 12 more to go!

OH MY...only 12 more weeks aka 90 days!  Thank you, Father, for getting me and Jett this far, for molding him perfectly in my perfectly healthy and safe womb.  For protecting us from any and all harm and allowing me to experience this gift for a 4th time! Please continue to watch over us and carry us all the way to 39wks!   I'm so overwhelmed with gratefulness...for my little guy.  He is so precious to me.  I love feeling him move around inside of me.  I love rubbing my belly and speaking to him...telling him how much I love him and how much I can't wait to hold him in my arms.  Sometimes, I have to tell him, "Ouch, you're hurting mommy"...lol.  But, I truly cherish every second.  My belly is growing right along with him and it's starting to get hard to get into comfortable positions...and I know it's not going to get any easier before he comes.  One thing I'm very happy about is that I'm able to sleep very soundly and often.  I know all the rest I get now, will be much appreciated later on.  It's hard for me to remember exactly what my discomforts were when I was pg with my others, but I don't really remember having this much lower back pain before.  I'm thinking he is still head down, which could be the cause of the added pressure.  Sometimes when I walk a lot I feel pressure on my cervix, like he's going to come out!  I know this is normal and nothing to be concerned about though, so I just try to listen to my body and take it easy when I feel I need to.  My biggest craves this pregnancy have been MEAT, burgers/steaks.  I could always go for pizza too.  Not so much chicken this go round.  I haven't really craved sweets, although I will eat them. :-)  My belly button has almost reached "outie" status...haha.  I can find his HB very easily with the doppler now and enjoy being able to listen from time to time, especially when he's been still for a while and I need a little reassurance.  I do notice hiccups from time to time, but not very often.  We're still preparing little by little, purchasing things we'd like to have before he arrives.  We're supposed to be going Lazy Boy Rocker/Recliner shopping this weekend.  It will be nice to have a nice, comfy chair to sit and nurse (and probably even sleep in) when baby gets here.  So far, we've purchased, the pack and play (his bed for the first few months), the swing and the car seat/stroller (which is awesome!).  My shower is coming up in a month so we'll wait and see what all we get before we buy much else.  I don't need anymore clothes!  With what I had saved from the boys and what a friend has graciously given me, Jett's dresser is already packed full!  What a blessing!  Oh, I also have the wrap and sling ready, a cute, little organizer for carrying supplies, and I've been buying things for the shower here and there (decor and game stuff).  I'm really excited about my shower, I feel like it's the first one, at least the first one I've ever had a hand in.  I know it will be so adorable and fun!  Then I'll have one last month, the month of May, to do all my last touches before his arrival.  I'll want everything in place, cleaned, and ready to accept him into his home, including have my bags packed and ready for the trip to the hospital.
This week, I have my reg OB appt on Tues.  I will also be taking my gestational diabetes blood screen.  I also have some questions to ask, such as: 1.  Does she have a Pediatrician to recommend (she was supposed to be looking into that). 2. What are the plans for dealing with the ever-growing cyst on my right ovary. 3.  What are these peculiar red spots on the tops of my feet & 4. I need a permission slip to get a prenatal massage (OH YEAH!).  My fave spa has a March special of 75mins massage for $75!  I need it desperately.
Then next week, on Monday, it will be time to see my little man on sono again, YAY!
So, much excitement in store and only 3 more months to go!

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

25 weeks and getting closer to the final trimester!

In 3 weeks I'll officialy be considered in my 3rd (and final...ahhh) Trimester!  Time has really flown, just as I expected it would.  Enjoying and Embracing each precious, little pregnancy moment I have left.  Soon the whole dynamics of our family will change like we've never experienced before.  My three musketeers will become four.  I look forward to the changes for I know they will better all of our lives and bring joy like we've never known.  I'm still feeling pretty good and still dealing with nightly heartburn. The anticipation of meeting our newest little Schamberger is growing more and more with each passing day.

How your baby's growing

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture

Visit with the Perinatologist Today...

The Good News:

The Not So Good News (which has nothing to do with Jett):

Before I had become pg and after my mc last year my doc had noticed a nice size cyst on my right ovary.  They don't typically like to see cysts get to over 5cm.  Well, before we could really do anything about I found out I was pg with this baby, so they decided to just keep an eye on it (with the hope it would just resolve itself).  In early pregnancy, it did appear to be getting smaller, having gone down to 4cm.  Well, today, they noticed it has blown back up to over 6cm. :-(  Frankly, there is nothing they can do about it while pg and they don't forsee it causing any trouble while pg.  The Specialist said, they would have to do something if it became larger than 10cm or if it caused a problem.  He said something about how it could cause the ovary to turn in on itself and could affect blood flow (?). I have no idea what that means, but he didn't seemed concerned.  I'll be sure to speak with my OB about it at my next appt though. Hopefully, it will not interfere with the pregnancy at all and will either resolve itself or will be taken care of for good, after the pregnancy.

24 weeks now!

I've made it to 24 weeks!  From what I've read, this is another milestone... supposedly 24 weeks is the age of viability, or when the baby is far along enough that it would actually have a chance of surviving if born now.  And the % of survival continues to increase from here on out.  This is very comforting to know, but I'm praying it will be a good 15 more weeks before my baby makes his appearance, when he'll be 100% ready to meet the world.  Only 15 more weeks to go!!  Some more exciting news, I felt his little hiccups for the first time last night, such a cute feeling...evidence his little body is growing and functionally perfectly.  I'm still feeling really good. Me and Jett are growing bigger and stronger each day.  In 3 days I get to see him again at my next Perinatologist appt! YAY!

Here's the most recent belly pic, taken at 23 weeks (last week):

And here's how baby is doing this week:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
